Wines from the Region
Burgundy is one of the largest wine regions in France. Most white wines are made from Chardonnay and Aligoté grapes. The red wines are produced from Pinot Noir and Gamay grapes (mainly for Beaujolais). The Burgundy wine region is divided into five districts. From north to south, these are Chablis, the Côte d’Or, the Chalonnais, the Mâconnais and finally Beaujolais.
You can explore the wine region by car or on foot. In both Auxerre and Beaune, the local tourist offices have mapped out wine walks. These walks through the vineyards are also known as “Randonnées de Vignoble.” Be surprised by the magnificent views over the beautiful vineyards of Burgundy.
At the campsite, you can purchase delicious Burgundy wines from our supplier in Mâcon at an attractive price: red, white, rosé, Champagne or sparkling wines.

Tannay
The town of Tannay is situated on a hill overlooking the Yonne valley and can be visited for its vineyards and wines. Tannay wine is usually white wine, made from Melon and Chardonnay grapes. A definite highlight is “Les Coteaux de Tannay,” a cooperative of winegrowers from the Tannay region. Tastings are available in the 16th-century cellars, which can also be visited. They are happy to tell you everything about their wines, and sales take place on site.
Tannay is also a stop along the pilgrimage route from Vézelay to Santiago de Compostela. Pilgrims will find accommodation, restaurants and a place to rest here.
